Wisconsin Craft hosts programming throughout the year. Programs encompass topics relevant to specific crafts and techniques, the business side of marketing your work, and much more. We are always open to suggestions regarding topics, presenters, and of course, your interest in being a presenter as well.
Product Photography 101 -Presented by: Rebecca Ickes Carra
Saturday, January 20th, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Milwaukee, WI
Learn how to create consistency in your photography, no matter what kind of camera you use. In this one-day class, you will learn the basics of harnessing natural light for professional-looking images. We will then discuss and practice avoiding some of the most popular mistakes I see artists making online with their photos. By the end of the day, you’ll know how to avoid issues like distortion, extreme glare, inaccurate colors, and distracting settings. You will also learn how to get those coveted blurry backgrounds (even with older-model cell phones)! There will be ample time for on-site practicing with hands-on support from Rebecca as well as time for Q&A.

Monthly Member Meet & Greets
We are excited to continue to offer exclusive FREE programming next year to our Active Wisconsin Craft Members. Every month we host a virtual (and sometimes in-person) event, where our members choose a topic discussion and we gather and share our knowledge and experiences. Topics can range from digital marketing, photography, business financials, art show circuit, and MORE! You must be a member to receive event registration.

A whole person project: Create as We Are.
April 1, 12:00 - 3:00pm, In-person ONLY, Center for Visual Arts, Wausau, WI
This interactive workshop aims to invite and spark a conversation across cultures and generations, with the community on issues that are important to them such as: inclusivity, gender identity, race, trauma, etc. Participants will have an opportunity to adhere and choose their “words” to a completed backdrop or develop their personal panels to take home with them and continue exploration. They will also be able to craft their words with a die cutting tool, available during the workshop. Community members may choose to stay all three hours or drop in as they wish. Maday is a native Spanish speaker and is happy to converse with workshop participants in both languages. There are lots of ways to become involved with the project even if a person chooses not to stitch. All supplies are provided.
