The Wisconsin Craft Education Committee is excited to partner with Morning Glory to offer multiple educational programs that invite the community to experience art firsthand. We believe it is essential to educate, engage, and connect people through creative practice, and these programs provide meaningful, hands-on opportunities to do just that. This collaboration is one of many ways we strive to make art more accessible while strengthening connections between artists and the community.

01 Session: Paint Your Inner Landscape

    Instructor: Maria Gehrke

    Registration Fee: $25 Members | $30 Non-Members

    Maximum Registration: 15

Description: Participants are guided through a short embodied listening practice before picking up a brush. Through breath and body awareness, they are invited to sense what is present in them right now, like a feeling, a memory, a quality, an inner weather. They then let it take shape on paper through color and intuition. No artistic experience is needed. The process is accessible, unhurried, and rooted in presence. Participants leave with a small watercolor painting and a felt experience of creative self-expression.

02 Session: Traditional Corn Husk Flower

    Instructor: Yesica Coria

    Registration Fee: $25 Members | $30 Non-Members

    Maximum Registration: 10

Description: In this activity, participants will learn a traditional craft using cornhusk and create a handmade flower. No experience is required. Children ages 8-12 are welcome with adult supervision and are encouraged to collaborate with family members in the creative process, making it a meaningful hands-on experience for all ages. This activity encourages creativity, patience, and connection through art and tradition.

03 Session: 3D Textured Floral Painting

    Instructor:  Marta Gwizdala

    Registration Fee: $25 Members |  $30 Non-Members

    Maximum Registration: 12

Description:  Creating a small painting with 3D texture flowers. Beginner-friendly. No painting experience needed. You’ll leave with a finished 4x4 canvas. All materials included. All ages.

04 Session: Fun with Alcohol Inks

    Instructor: Jeanette Payne

    Registration Fee: $25 Members | $30 Non-Members

    Maximum Registration: 10

Description:  Through instructor demonstrations learn the unique qualities of alcohol inks. Have fun trying your hand at creating a vibrant landscape, an abstract work of art, and/or inking a ceramic tile.

Pre-registration is required to attend the Morning Glory Mini-Workshops, with a registration deadline of May 22. Each registration includes one participant and one materials kit; we will not accept walk-ins or onsite/cash payments. A minimum of five students is required for each workshop to run, and both registrants and instructors will be notified of class status by May 22. Workshops will take place outdoors on the grounds across from the Morning Glory Information Booth.

Join Wisconsin Craft for our July Education Program, Website Refresh: Utilizing AI to Amplify SEO, a practical virtual workshop designed to help participants improve their online presence and visibility. All experience levels and website platforms are welcome as we explore how AI tools can assist with refreshing website content, generating keywords, improving Google SEO, and strengthening artist statements, page descriptions, and portfolio text. While this workshop is especially valuable for artists and creatives, the information shared is not limited to those in the arts field and can benefit anyone looking to strengthen their website and digital marketing presence.

This workshop will be facilitated by Marc & Melanie Ownley of My Charming Ceramics, two active members of the Wisconsin Craft Education Committee who are passionate about digital marketing and helping others grow their online reach. Marc and Melanie welcome questions from participants, and registrants will have the opportunity to submit questions directly through the sign-up form in advance of the workshop.

Whether you’re building a new website, updating an older portfolio, or simply looking to better connect with audiences online, this session will provide approachable strategies and real-world examples tailored to creative professionals. This is a virtual workshop and will not be recorded—participants must attend live to receive the information and take part in the discussion.
